What I find remarkable is how casually our society is simply accepting all this new debt in the name of "it could be worse." However, in the larger scheme of things, it really could be worse, and at this time of year, we should give thanks that it isn't.

Recently released news from a leading trade publication honored top shops in our industry. I was pleased — but not surprised — that seven of the 10 were ASA members. This is an awesome testament to the value of association membership.

In this energetic political season, and on the eve of electing a new president to lead this great county, Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive shares his views on what he really wants from government - one that works. In summary, his hope is to see is a consensus prioritization of our problems and a concerted, truly bipartisan effort to resolve them, one-by-one - starting at the top of the list and working down - just like private citizens and small business owners do every day.
